How do I know if I have the 216W or 216W-2 model?
easiest way to tell which saw version you have, is by the saw table. The first generation model 216W, was designed with a reflective brushed steel top. While the Second generation 216W-2 was designed with a rough matte gray top.
The other method for determining which version you have, is the presence of of screw divots along the front and back, black foot bar. These divots are only present on the newer 216W-2 model, to allow the saw attach it to the saw stand.
The last method for determining which version you have is by the front scale, the 216W saw uses millimetres, while the 216-2 uses inches.
Which is better, the 216W or the 216W-2?
Aside from the fact that the 216W-2 version is compatible with the saw stand, and the 216W is not. Both saws still come packaged with the same accessories, warranty guarantee and have the same machine specifications.
